This guy makes $7 a mile so people in L.A. don’t have to walk alone

Taking a walk is good for the body, mind, and soul – but, for those without someone to walk with, walks can be pretty boring – unless you listen to Spotify, a podcast, radio, or just lose the headphones and listen to nature. So what’s a lonely walker to do? Hire a guy who will walk with you…for $7 a mile.
Chuck McCarthy, a.k.a. “The People Walker,” told KPCC radio that he came up with the idea while at Griffith Park where he saw a bunch of dog walkers and personal trainers getting paid to do their thing.
So he made a Facebook page, a can’t-even-tell-it’s-homemade t-shirt, and a few flyers and, believe it or not, people started calling him to use his services.
He has also brought in addition “people walkers” to serve areas of L.A. outside of his home base – not sure if he has anyone in the Coachella Valley yet, but what the hell, I will gladly walk with you for 7 bucks a mile…cash up front, please.
