Watch UCSD students destroy a 600 pound pumpkin by tossing it off a building

Friday, UC San Diego hosted their 41st annual Halloween pumpkin drop – because college or something – and set a big record.

Students pushed a 600 pound pumpkin, named “It Low”, filled with candy off of the 11th story rooftop of a dorm building. In doing so, they set the all-time record for the widest guard splatter (that is a a thing!) at 138 feet. The record had been 100 feet, set in 1995.

And the tossing of produce does not end there, UCSD students toss a watermelon off the top of the same building every spring to mark the end of the school year, because college or something.
