Border patrol finds 1,400 pounds of weed hidden in coconuts

Authorities discovered 1,400 pounds of weed that someone tried to hide inside of fresh coconuts this week at the United States-Mexico.
In a news release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said they encountered a large semitrailer Monday hauling a commercial shipment of coconuts from Mexico into Texas at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility near Hidalgo. Officers found 2,486 separate packages of marijuana concealed inside the coconuts.
The 1,423 pounds of marijuana seized is valued at about $285,000.
