An abandoned Pizza Hut in Palm Springs is slated to become a gastropub by the end of summer – so yeah, I would say that is an upgrade for the building (and the city).

The Draughtsman is slated to open in the end of August at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Stevens Road, reports the Desert Sun.   The restaurant / bar is part of the Arrive Hotel.

As gastropubs are usually known for having quality food to go along with top-notch beer selections, hopefully the new spot will be a good place to grab a beer or two along with some grub.

Not much is known about the menu yet, but the the 144-seat restaurant will have roll up garage doors leading to a patio – which should be rad during the cooler months in the desert.
